We have all read things that sound as if they have been “translated”—so-called “translationese”—where the text may be error free but it’s everything but fluid and natural in the target language.
Quite often, a low-quality translation loses all meaning or even becomes unreadable.
Many clients believe that translating is simply transferring words from one language to another. However, translation involves so much more than transferring words: translation is about conveying meaning, and doing so with consistency and accuracy, in a way that feels natural and fluid in the target language, while respecting the style and tone of voice of the source content.
It makes perfect sense: if we want our words to sell, we have to be very careful not to overdo it because exaggeration will easily cross the very fine line between eliciting a certain emotion and making the reader feel manipulated. This would have the exact opposite effect to what we intended.

The addition of optional rules and double spellings has only aggravated the problem and further disfigured our centuries-old and very rich language.
Portuguese is a Latin language, yes, but only because, along with other prior influences, it is derived from Latin just like languages such as Spanish, French, and Italian. Latin is a dead language, disseminated by the ancient Roman Empire, in times when the Roman and Greek people were the pinnacle of Western civilization and considered all other cultures mere “barbarians.”
