Certified Translation
WE TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU, END-TO-END
Due to legal requirements, you are sometimes required to obtain a certified translation.
The concept of a “sworn translator” or a “certified translator” does not exist in our country. In Portugal, a “certified translation,” also called an “authenticated translation,” requires the certification of the translated text by a registrar. A “certified translation” consists of three documents: the original, the translation, and a notarial document identifying the translator and attesting that the translation is a faithful and complete version of the original, thus making it legally valid.
We recommend that these procedures are assigned to professionals with experience in document certification, since a poorly conducted process may result in a legally invalid document.
Additionally, some notaries require documents to be delivered by a professional translator before proceeding with document certification.
At our Translation Boutique, this entire process is made easier, as we will handle the translation and certification of any document you may need. The certified documents are then legally valid to be used in Portugal or abroad, depending on the country in question.

National and International Certification
Generally, certification through a notary or lawyer is used to certify documents that will be used in Portugal. For foreign usage, within the signing countries of the Hague Convention, all documents require an apostille, also referred to as the Hague Apostille.
Our team of translators is experienced in this field and will be able to advise you according to your needs. We will work with you and handle every step of the process, from the translation itself to the document’s certification, so that you may receive your certified translation in a reliable and comfortable manner.
