No one deserves less respect. Not because of their job, of their position or of where they stand in an organizational chart. Not because of their income, the house they live in or the car they drive (or don’t) drive, or even how they dress.
We may have different responsibilities, skills, and paths—but we share the same basic dignity.

To Lead Others, Lead Yourself First
For years, I thought leadership meant directing others. Now I see that it begins with directing myself — because I can’t expect clarity from others if I haven’t found it within.
It’s not about striving to be endlessly calm. It’s about refusing to let my inner turbulence define the atmosphere around me.
Why a boss is not (necessarily) a leader
Emotional intelligence (also known as “EQ”) is a so-called “soft skill” that can have a more inward focus: as they say, know thyself, and you’ll improve your emotional intelligence. But it’s also useful in a group dynamic. It’s also about observing how you react to people and learning to recognizing people’s needs and feelings.
